Logo correction review — 2026-09-25
Historical review of the superseded woven-V identity. On 2026-09-26 the maintainer selected the Listening Bird concept; current assets and meanings are documented in
README.md.
The maintainer selected mark/vak-logo-master.png (the supplied Va Logo.png)
as the exact public mark. It is an Indian letterform rendered as a flat, woven
navy and saffron V on a light paper tile. The mark is visually centered. The
saffron return at the lower left is part of the intended woven form; do not
reposition it to force geometric symmetry. The initial concern was an apparent
upward tilt. Review at app-icon, interface and tray sizes shows the stronger
practical issue was inconsistent old crops, backgrounds, and mark sizing across
surfaces. This correction normalizes those exports without changing the art.
The source is preserved byte-for-byte (SHA-256
d0db2c2956a3a19179417335e2ec65abc931210613a0391b89e78eb10b963de3). The
light/dark application surfaces use the same full-color tile. App icons use
native padding and platform masks; the macOS menu-bar template is a silhouette
from the same raster because AppKit expects a monochrome template there.
Public-name and visual-similarity scan
The product presents publicly as Vakyartha and uses vakyartha.com, as
requested by its owner. vak remains the CLI and internal namespace.
A limited search of indexed web pages and visible logo examples found no exact match for the supplied image. The closest inspected mark was Vrittee: it also pairs blue and orange curved strokes into a V-like shape, but uses a continuous rounded lower bowl and different overlap and proportions. A VAK-branded agent product and VAAK are separate visible name uses; the public Vakyartha name and owned domain avoid presenting this product as either one. This scan was not an image-index reverse search, trademark-registry search, or legal clearance. The maintainer has deferred trademark work.

Rust tray tests cover template transparency, visible coverage and invalid input. cargo build -p vak -p vak-server -p vak-desktop --bins, targeted clippy, formatting, version, document-path, and diff checks passed.
